What Can I Expect on My First Visit?

We take a patient-centered approach to come up with a tailored treatment plan for you. So on your first visit, you can expect our board-certified acupuncturist to ask you questions about your general health. You may be asked about your symptoms, your diet, as well as your medical or family history to gain a comprehensive view of how you are. This will also allow us to treat the root cause of your issue.

Your acupuncturist will begin treatment by targeting specific points in your body. Depending on your symptoms, he may also provide herbal medicine along with the treatment. Because of the evaluation and treatment proper, your first session may usually last longer than your subsequent sessions.

Ready for your first visit? Call us by phone or visit our office!

Acupuncture treatment consists of one-on-one sessions with your acupuncturist. These sessions usually last about one hour to one and a half hours.

You will also usually need several sessions of acupuncture spanning a few weeks for the best results.

Yes, acupuncture is considered a safe alternative treatment to Western medicine. The needles used by our California board-certified acupuncturist are sterile, one-time-use needles. These acupuncture needles are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

It is common and normal to have slight bruising or feel tenderness in the body area where the acupuncture needles were inserted.

In our years in practice, we have seen many patients who come to acupuncture because they have tried other treatment options with very little to no success. They found acupuncture helped them improve their health significantly. You may speak with your doctor first if you have a current condition and are considering acupuncture.

Remember also that acupuncture seeks to improve overall health by treating the individual holistically. This leads you to have a better quality of life. For example, you’re able to sleep better and reduce anxiety. To know more about how acupuncture can help your condition, feel free to call our office for an appointment.

At our clinic, we provide different acupuncture types to adjust to your treatment preferences. These can be in the form of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, or Five-Element Acupuncture.

Along with your acupuncture treatment, you may be given Chinese herbal medicine to help manage your health. Combining these together can enhance their effects and provide you with better results.
