The important difference between Western and Chinese medicine is that the Chinese medicine uses different approach to treat the source of medical problem(s) by understand human body’s constitution and activates body’s self healing process whereas Western medicine only diagnose and treat the symptoms regardless the body constitution. With conventional Western medicine, it focuses on removing the symptoms and patient may show or experience “instant” improvement after taking the medication in the beginning of treatment. But the patient usually requires medication for certain period of time. If the symptom(s) persist or longer treatment requires, more medications may be taken. If the medication stops during the treatment, the symptom(s) may persist or worsen and some patient may develop side-effect or become addiction or dependence on medication.
